An air bearing comprises a plurality of nozzles 2c opening to the journal bearing surface 2a of a housing 2, and disposed in the same cross-section at equal circumferential intervals. They are put in circumferential communication with each other by a polygonal air feed passage 2i. The housing may comprise two portions coaxially joined by bolts, one portion comprising an outer wall of ceramic, synthetic resin or graphite, and an inner metallic wall providing threads for engagement with the bolts. |
