<p>A method and line for forming and conveying orderly groups (3) of elongated products (2), particularly cigarettes, whereby each group (3) is formed of a number of superimposed layers (9, 10, 11) of products (2) arranged side by side and separated by a given distance (P1) less than the width of the product (2) and such as to compensate for the absence of at least one product (2) in each of the layers (9, 10, 11); each group (3) being formed by feeding the relative layers (9, 10, 11) axially and successively into a forming spindle (30), at least the bottom wall (34) of which presents seats (35) separated by the aforementioned given distance (P1) and for receiving and transversely retaining in position the products (2) in a first layer (9); and each pair of adjacent products (2) in one layer (9; 10) defining a seat for transversely retaining in position a product (2) in an upper layer (10; 11). <IMAGE></p> |
