A scattering device for eg. compost, comprises a supply unit (1) for the material and an advancing member. A rotor housing (2) is held by the machine frame, and has a supply rotor (3) and at least one scattering rotor (4) with a housing (9). The rotational axis of the rotor is at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the advancing unit, and is also arranged at an angle (alpha) to the rotational axis (19) of the supply rotor (3).
