<p>A chamfer (10), 11), inclined with respect to the faces of the component along one of its edges, is made on each of the components (2, 3) to be assembled. The chamfer (10, 11) may be produced while the components (2, 3) is being cut out from sheet metal. The components are placed in the assembly position with their chamfers (10, 11) in contact along a bearing plane. The components (2, 3) are welded in a single pass along the bearing plane by a method such as laser welding or electron beam welding.
