PURPOSE: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device which can make shift by taking a measure only to a limited harness even if a grounding measure or an electric shock preventive measure is not taken to the whole plural harnesses. CONSTITUTION: A discharge lamp lighting device is provided with a lighting circuit 1 composed of a first closed circuit composed of DC electric power supply V1 , a first coil L1 of a transformer T1 and at least a single switching element Q1 and a second closed circuit composed of a second coil L2 of the transformer T1 , a diode D1 , a capactor C1 and an inverter circuit 2 connected to both ends of the capacitor C1 . In a discharge lamp lighting device where a starting circuit 3 is connected between output of this lighting circuit 1 and a discharge lamp 4, among wirings to connect the lighting circuit 1 and the starting circuit 3 to each other, single wiring is put in an always grounding condition, and the inverter circuit 2 constitutes a bridge circuit so as to realize the grounding condition. |
