PURPOSE: To obtain an inspection equipment for making a decision of pass/fail by automatically detecting an unsealed part of a sheet in a package, e.g. a PTP package. CONSTITUTION: A CCD camera 10 picks up the surface image of a package and delivers a gray level image data to an edge extracting section 16 where the edge is extracted. Consequently, a grid-like pattern present at a sealed part of the package is embossed. The image is sent out to a line width enlarging section 18 where the line width is widened by substituting for the minimum gray level among eight nearby pixels using a minimum value filter thus compacting the grid-like mesh. When the image is binarized at a binarization section 19, the pocket part, the grid-like mesh, and the unsealed part are represented by white pixels. The pocket part and the grid-like mesh are substituted, respective at a masking section 20 and a noise removing section 21, by black pixels and a decision section 22 makes a decision that an unsealed part is present when more than predetermined number of white pixels are present. |
