PURPOSE: To correct the shift in time of an echo peak by compensating the reduction quantity of the actual amplitude×applied time of the inclined magnetic field pulse of a rear stage caused by an eddy current by making the amplitude×applied time of the inclined magnetic field pulse of the rear stage larger than that of the inclined magnetic field pulse of a front stage. CONSTITUTION: In an MRI apparatus equipped with a gantry 20 equipped with a static magnetic field magnet 1, a gradient magnetic field coil unit 2 and an RF coil 3, blood flow is converted to an image using a flow encode pulse consisting of the inclined magnetic field pulse of a front stage and the inclined magnetic field pulse reversed in polarity with respect to that of the front stage of a rear stage. In this case, the amplitude×applied time of the inclined magnetic field pulse of the rear stage is made larger than that of the inclined magnetic field pulse of the front stage or the amplitude×applied time of the inclined magnetic field pulse of the front stage is made smaller than that of the inclined magnetic field pulse of the rear stage. By this constitution, the reduction quantity of the amplitude×applied time of the inclined magnetic field pulse of the rear stage caused by an eddy current can be compensated.
