PURPOSE: To improve operability and to improve working efficiency by performing control to decide modification information to be added to inserted character information corresponding to the added information to preceding and following character string information. CONSTITUTION: A RAM 2 is a buffer for storing all the inputted character information or the like and internally provided with a character storage buffer 21 for storing the format information of respective areas, modification information buffer 22 for storing the modification information corresponding to the characters inside the buffer 21, and inserting character string buffer 23 for moving this information to the buffer 21 when the character to be inserted between characters is fixed. A ROM 3 stores program information for providing a function for correcting the areas or a function for retrieving the groups to which the areas belong. A CPU 1 performs various kinds of control processing according to the prescribed program information in the ROM 3. Thus, when the character is inserted, the same modification as the preceding or following character string can be automatically added or the modification of the character can be set. |
