TONER DENSITY DETECTING METHOD

PURPOSE: To perform the replenishing of toner based on the density of a transferred visible image. CONSTITUTION: The latent image pattern for detecting a toner density SPY is formed in outside of the image area of a latent image carrier 34 by a uniform electrification with respect to the latent image carrier 34 and the erasure with an eraser 44. Then a visible pattern PY is made by developing the latent image SPY to be transferred on a transferring belt 60 transporting a transfer paper along a transferring transportation path and then the density of the transferred visible pattern PY is optically detected at the position other than a transferring position and the transferred pattern PY is eliminated from the transferring belt 60 after the detection.
