PURPOSE: To attain uniform development and printing with stable printing quality. CONSTITUTION: This developing unit is provided with a developing roller 53 developing an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor, a unit main body 61 freely rotatably supporting the developing roller 53 and supplying toner T thereto and a toner blade 4 fixedly supported by the unit main body 61 on one end, so as to abut the other end on the developing roller 53 with prescribed pressurizing force and adjusting the thickness of a toner layer on the roller 53.
