PURPOSE: To automate the format setting of a read original image by analyzing the character positions, sizes and digit positions, etc., of character data, whose characters are recognized from the read original image, on the original image and setting a document format by deciding the character size, character magnification, digit position, line interval and ruled line position or the like corresponding to the original image based on the analyzed results. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 2 executes document reading processing according to a document reading processing program so that the format of corresponding to the read original image can be automatically set by executing character recognizing processing, calculating processing for line position for the unit of a line, calculating processing for character size for the unit of a line, correcting processing for line position, calculating processing for stored character size, correcting processing for stored character size, calculating processing for digit position, calculating processing for ruled line storage position and document data preparing processing to the original image data read by an image reader 4 and stored in an original image memory 5. |
