PURPOSE: To make even the signals for correction with a low counting rate usable without requiring frequent alteration of output values of the signals for correction for every subject of measurement and depending on the counting rate of the whole measuring system. CONSTITUTION: A signal from a radiation source is detected by a radiation detector 1, the detection result is recorded in a process memory 5, and energy spectrum of the radiation is measured. The process memory 5 is provided with a correction signal generating 6 which records a signal for correction in a region lower than the lower limit threshold value of a region in which the signal for correction can normally be measured and in a region higher than the upper limit threshold value.
