CATALYST FOR PURIFICATION OF EXHAUST GAS

PURPOSE: To make a carrier less liable to adsorb SOx by improvement and to prevent the poisoning of an NOx occluding material by sulfur. CONSTITUTION: This catalyst consists of a carrier made of Ti-Zr double oxides, an NOx occluding material selected from among alkali metals, alkaline earth metals and rare earth elements and carried on the carrier and a catalytic noble metal carried on the carrier. Since the heat resistance and acidity of the carrier is improved by the Ti-Zr double oxides, the SOx adsorption of the carrier is reduced, the poisoning of the NOx occluding material by sulfur is prevented and this catalyst is excellent in durability of NOx removing performance.
