PURPOSE: To provide a ceiling front face illuminating means having a large grid and easy to maintain by using the canvas coated with an incombustible translucent resin having a specific transmission factor on a sheet material equivalent to an incombustible material for a light source light diffusing translucent material. CONSTITUTION: An incombustible translucent resin such as a fluororesin is applied to the thickness for a transmission factor slightly below 50% by spraying on a sheet material equivalent to an incombustible material such as a glass cloth to form canvas 5. A skirt section 9 is extended from the opening edge of a grid frame 8 arranged on the whole surface of the ceiling of a ceiling illumination unit system, a pipe material 12 is arranged at a low corner edge section, and the canvas 5 is spread and stuck between it and the bead 13 of an opening peripheral edge section smaller in size than it. An upper fine cover 11 constituted of a circumferential flange 15 and a frame 17 holding the pipe material 12 and the bead 13 is assembled to the grid frame 8 with a hook material 18, a broken type stay 20, and a push type opening/closing fastener 21.
