PURPOSE: To provide a multicolor display device in which noise resulting from the counter-electromotive force of a coil hardly affects peripheral circuits, and which has a low cost structure and a stable operation by generating and outputting a trigger signal delaying a certain time from an input trigger signal through a delay trigger generating circuit. CONSTITUTION: After transferring color display data from a display control device 111 to a display unit, a trigger signal 61 is inputted to the input terminal 101 of first display unit 100a. In the first display unit 100a, a drive signal 62 is generated by a motor drive signal generating circuit 102 so that a display element motor group 105a to 105m is driven via an exciting circuit group 104a to 104m. While, a delay trigger generating circuit 106 is operated so that a trigger signal 63 delayed byΔt from the trigger signal 61 is outputted from a trigger output terminal 107. Thereby, a drive signal is generated in second display unit 100b so that a display element motor group in the second unit 100b is driven. That is, the display element motors of a following step unit are operated with time difference against a previous step unit.
