摘要 PURPOSE: To develop a steel strip heat treatment furnace excellent in sealness, high strip passing speed and safety by providing the inlet/outlet of the steel strip in a steel strip bright annealing furnace with a seal device having a specific structure. CONSTITUTION: In the case of executing a continuous annealing or stress releaving annealing treatment without coloring or discoloring surface caused by oxidation, by passing the steel strip 11 through a vertical continuous annealing furnace 12 under reducing atmosphere 17 containing gaseous hydrogen, the steel strip 11 is shut off from the outer air 20 with elastic rotating rolls 14, 15 and elastic pads 18 having the elastic body or nonwoven fabric having 1 to 10<7>Ωcm electric specific resistance on the surface, which holes the steel strip 11 and rotates at the same speed as the steel strip passing speed, at the inlet/outlet for putting and leaving the steel strip 11 into/out from the continuous annealing furnace 12. Since the generation of explosive gas of hydrogen mixed with oxygen in the annealing furnace by the infiltration of the outer air containing the oxygen into the annealing furnace 12 under atmosphere containing gaseous hydrogen, is prevented and further, static electricity by the friction of the steel strip, and the roll is not generated, the steel strip can safely and continuously be heat-treated.
