PURPOSE: To provide a telephone exchange method capable of direct communication even between public telephones in the case of mutually being out. CONSTITUTION: In a telephone exchange, when a call is terminated to a prescribed line housed in it and the call originator (caller) instructs his own identification number and the identification number of an opposite party with whom the communication is desired and disconnects the line the radio calling portable receiver of the opposite party is informed of a telephone number to respond to and a response call from the opposite party is terminated to the prescribed line. The radio calling portable receiver of the caller is informed of the telephone number to respond to linked with the call termination, and when the response call from the caller is terminated to the prescribed line, it is connected with the line of the opposite party to which the call is already terminated. Then, by respectively originating the informed telephone numbers through the radio calling portable receivers, the direct communication is made possible even between the public telephones. Also, since the caller disconnects the line and waits, the need of holding the line and waiting until the termination of the response call from the opposite party is eliminated. Thus, useless communication charges are not piled up and this method is economical. |
