PURPOSE: To keep a garbage decomposition capacity and to protect environment from pollution. CONSTITUTION: An garbage treatment apparatus is equipped with a tank 3 in which garbage 1 and a treatment material such as wood chips are placed and a shaft 4 around which the tank 3 rotates. The tank 3 has air holes 17 in the upper part, and the shaft 4 is slanted from the vertical. Even when the tank 3 is rotated, the garbage 1 and the treatment material 2 is kept being positioned below the air holes 17 to leave spaces between the air holes 17 and the garbage 1 or the treatment material 2 so that the air holes 17 can be prevented from contacting the garbage 1 and the treatment material.
