PURPOSE: To improve cache efficiency and convenience by updating the content of a cache area on bit data on the character of a keyword when the number of hit times exceeds a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION: A cache controller 21 constructs a word against data on a character pattern string. At the same time, a generated character bit data group is outputted to CRT and a printer. A keyword dictionary by individual fields 24 is retrieved based on the constructed word. When the keyword matched (similar) to a retrieval word in one of respective dictionary ID exists, '1' is added to the value of the hit times of the dictionary is updated. Character bit data of all the keywords stored in the dictionary where the number of the hit times exceeds the threshold is generated. The contents of a character cache index 22 and a character bit data cache 23 are updated by generated character bit data, and the number of hit times is cleared to '0' for the respective dictionaries. |
