PURPOSE: To improve a sealing function against water leakage or the like, and prevent the occurrence of a wind breaking noise during a high-speed travel by forming a sponge layer of a certain specific gravity on the base of a glass run channel, regarding a glass run channel of approximately U-shaped cross section having a seal lip in resilient contact with elevating glass. CONSTITUTION: This glass run channel 1 coupled to the door sash S of the door frame F of a vehicular door is formed out of synthetic rubber, so as to have approximately U-shaped cross section and has a seal lip 2 in resilient contact with elevating glass G. Also, a sponge layer of low specific gravity, or specific gravity between 0.2 and 0.3 is formed on a base 3 at the side of the glass G. As a result, the peripheral edge G1 of the glass G in a completely closed state is kept in contact with the sponge layer 4 of the channel 1, thereby preventing the appearance of a gap between the base 3 and the edge G1, and improving a sealing or wind breaking function. Also, durability can be improved to some extent, when a urethane coat 5 is applied to the surface of the layer 4. |
