PURPOSE: To detect a corrosion state by measuring the amount of corrosion of a side wall of a pot containing a molten substance from a profile of the side wall. CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional scanner 3 is set above a melting pot 1 containing a molten metal 2. A mobile end 3a of the scanner 3 is inserted into the melting pot 1. The mobile end 3a has a focusing-type ultrasonic probe 4. Measuring conditions are inputted from a condition setter 8 to a three- dimensional scanner control device 6. An output of the ultrasonic probe 4 is inputted to an ultrasonic flaw detector 5. The three-dimensional scanner 3 is controlled by the control device 6. The ultrasonic flaw detector 5 is related to the three-dimensional scanner control device 6, and outputs of the ultrasonic flaw detector 5 and three-dimensional scanner control device 6 are inputted to a side wall profile-measuring device 7. The operation result is outputted from a corrosion amount-calculating device 9. |
