<p>PURPOSE: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, which is compact and has a stable ignition performance, by forming the ignition coil and an igniter in a simultaneous ignition type as a unitary body without impairing the heat dissipation property of the igniter. CONSTITUTION: Two sets of ignition coils are contained in a case 30. A magnetic path is formed of an inner core and an outer core, around which a primary coil 12 and a secondary coil 22 are wound, respectively. High-tension terminals 7 are connected to both ends of the secondary coil 22, respectively. An igniter 8, which intermittently controls the primary current to the primary coil 12, is arranged at the specified position, where at least the heat dissipating surface (case 8a) of the igniter is exposed to the outside of the case 30. The primary coil 12 and the igniter 8 are electrically connected through a hole 30h formed in the case 30.</p> |
