PURPOSE: To provide speedy service to a floor to have priority such as a main floor or a lobby floor of a building by checking traffic quantity, and distributing cars to the whole building when the traffic quantity is less or zero. CONSTITUTION: A group control device 17 is installed for receiving rising or falling landing calls registered by landing call buttons 18-20, assigning these calls to various cars to respond to these calls in accordance with one of plural sorts of group operation modes, and dispersing the cars to various floors in a building. Existence of peak demand is surveyed, the car 3 or 4 is assigned to the call on a zone inner circumferential surface when the demand exists, and the car 3 or 4 is assigned regardless of the zone when the demand is not existing, so a group of the elevator cars are assigned to the landing calls. By thus requiring the cars to be distributed in the whole building during a period while traffic quantity is zero, speedy service is provided to a floor to have priority such as a main floor or a lobby floor of the building. |
