FIELD: isolation of bromine from natural and industrial aqueous media. SUBSTANCE: preliminary acidified mother liquor (natural water, drilling liquor or another bromine-containing industrial liquor) is treated to oxidize the bromide ion to molecular bromine, which is sorbed on a low-basic anionite (such as AM-3, AM-7, AN-511) and then desorbed by way of treating a bromine-saturated anionite with an alkali agent solution (such as NaOH or KOH) producing a 150-225 g/l bromine solution. EFFECT: simplified process, more concentrated (about three-fold) bromine solutions recovered and low power consumption.
