FIELD: transportation systems; walking devices which use pipeline as monorail. SUBSTANCE: drive of grips and carriage axial travel motion drive are kinematically united in one of two single-acting power cylinders, and opposite travel motion drive is arranged on other power cylinder, each cylinder being connected with corresponding pair of carriage grips through paired tie-rods of opposite connecting form. This makes it possible to simplify control and design of device as a whole and solve the problem of self-bringing of device to optimum mode of operation for specific conditions, i. e. , the greater the resistance to travel, the greater the self-pressing of grips to pipeline and vice versa.
