Scaffolding safety hatch with automatic guard rail for use on building sites

The safety hatch has two doors (5,6). One of the doors (5) functions as an adjustable height guard rail. The mechanical connection between the two doors is by a rod (10) which pivots on small rods (9). The position of a counterweight (8) ensures balancing of the doors during their movement. Beyond the equilibrium position the counterweight ensures holding the door acting as guard rail in vertical position. The safety system (14) is constituted by a counterweight safety stop providing automatic action. A manual or mechanised winch (11) with an automatic brake and its cable (12) enable raising or lowering the doors.
