A device for filing and archiving cheque counterfoil books and other similar documents, as well as counterfoils from all kinds of account books and the like. The device enables such documents to be stored in a way that is suitable for accountancy filing, whereby substantial time savings can be achieved during accounting, searching and handling, and the documents can be protected from damage due to frequent handling. Said device consists of a rectangular plate (5) with parallel vertical rectangular through-holes (6) in which the covers (1) are inserted after being folded back, and a second sliding rectangular plate (10) which fits onto the first plate (5) and presses the documents (2). The device is particularly useful for filing and archiving bank cheque counterfoil books.
