The fixing device includes upper (2) and lower (1) sections which are pressed against each other. A rotation section (50) allows the two units to swing together. The unit has upper and lower matching channels (13), with each holding a flat strip of fibre optic units. Each channel has rubber feet (31,32) which are placed near to its outer ends, allowing the fibre optic strips to be clamped in place.
