A balloon catheter (1) has at least one radionuclide species in or on the wall of the balloon (2) in order to remedy vessel restrictions or stenoses and to prevent restenosis in arteries (6), veins or vessel implants or reduce the growth of tumours, in which at least one radionuclide species is mixed with the plastic of the bulb or directly implanted into the bulb wall or applied to the bulb wall as firmly adhesive film.
