The resistive base (2) and a holder (5) carrying a slider support (4) are inserted into a casing (1) with an opening at one end. The actuating lever (8) is fitted to the shaft portion (4a) of the support and secured by a nut (9) against a step on the shaft. Positioning reference regions provided on the resistive base and on the slider support are brought into contact with positioning regions in the casing by the spring washer (10). The shaft portion (5a) of the holder is held between short stainless steel bearings (6, 7).
