The figures shows the central shaft (12) carrying the rotor bell (11) and the cover part (13). The central portion of the cover part is drawn to form a collar (14), extended to fit over the shaft as a sleeve (16) and fixed firmly to it, so that the bell, cover and sleeve act as one unit on the shaft. This sleeve contains more material than a simple disc of the same strength and its material is carefully selected.
