Toothed belt for positive power transmission

The toothed belt has an embedded tensile strand (1) of a flexible, tension- and expansion-resistant material, and belt teeth of elastomeric material which, together with the tensile strand, are coated with a flexible, wear-resistant cover layer. In the region between two belt teeth the cover layer and the tensile strand are in flat contact. Between each two belt teeth (3) is formed an elevation (6) between the cover layer (4) and the tensile strand by an embedded elastomeric material.
