摘要 The method involves shaving a piece of raw material (1') to form a one dimensional micro-lens element (1) of light refractive material. The raw material is held by a holder (5) on a feeder (7) of a rotary machine and is treated using a rotary chisel (12). The chisel is controlled in one axial direction parallel to the axis of rotation and in a second axial direction radial to the rotation axis. The lens elements have several one dimensional lenses (3) on a side of a disk type base body (2) with axes perpendicular to the plane of the base body surface or to a middle plane (M) parallel to it. The raw pieces are at an equal radial distance from the holder rotary axis. The middle plane is orientated radial to the rotary axis (L). By controlling the chisel in both axial directions at the same orientation, the lenses are generated having axes of curvature tangential to the holder rotary motion and perpendicular to the middle plane. The radial distance of the side of material being treated is greater than the max. radius of curvature of the individual lenses.
