The security container (1) secures a device such as a computer. The container surrounds the computer and is fastened to the location of the computer. The container preferably has an opening (8) through which the computer is removed. A lockable cover (6) may be provided to close the opening. The container is fastened to the site by fasteners which are actuated from inside the container. Such fasteners are screws or bolts which are anchored to e.g. a wall, a floor or a piece of furniture. The container has function openings (9) of small cross-section e.g. for operating or ventilating or for cables to pass through. The container is preferably made of steel or aluminium. It is preferably square, with a front, a back and four sides (2, 3, 4, 5) with the front being formed as a cover or flap (6).
