<p>A compact portable cellular extension that provides additional electronics functions is implemented in a case (30) attachable to afirst external surface (46) of the cellular phone (10) to form a physically integral unit. A connector (42) is supported by the case (30) and couples the extension electronics to the cellular phone electronics. The connector (42) connects through a second external surface (44) of the cellular phone (10) that lies in a plane different from the plane of the first external surface (46). A speaker arm (20) extends from the case (30) and supports a speaker unit (22). The speaker arm (20) is positionable in a first position adjacent a third external surface of the cellular phone and in a second position away from the third external surface allowing the case to be readily attached and detached.</p> |
