The spray system incorporates a swirl chamber (2) in which the powder which is to be sprayed is placed and in which a vacuum can be generated. A gas can be fed into the swirl space through an opening which can be closed. The gas is used to swirl the powder in the chamber. The swirl chamber has a second opening, through which a measured amount of spray can be emitted. A flexible part (5) is mounted in the swirl chamber which is made from an electrically conducting material and which extends over the whole area of the swirl chamber. This part is e.g. in the form of a coil or of a loose ball of wire.
