Water chamber in which the gas conducting tubes (13) are lengthened out over the thin tube plate (16). The lengthened tube ends (14) are bent round outwardly and the bent tube ends (15) are tightly joined to the thin tube plate at a radial gap from the tubes (8). The thin tube plate is penetrated by holes (17) on a ring surface lying between the tube ends (15) and the tubes (8). The tube ends (14,15) are embedded in a heat resistant ceramic layer (18).
