A drive unit for an electrically driven vehicle includes at least one flange (4) and an axle shaft (1), the latter being provided with a blind aperture (2) in its end face, into which grips the neck (3) of the flange (4). An annular channel (10) is formed between the flange (4) and the axle shaft (1) with the motor (11) and retarder-brake (12) integrated into the annular channel (10) and mutually separated from one another by means of an inner housing ring (21), to which is torsion-resistantly connected a stator part (13) for the motor.
