A horizontal support rail (1) held on fixtures (4,4') has removably fixed holders in the form of vertical stands, or shelves (2,2',3) which protrude horizontally from the rail. A shelf is fixed to the two longitudinal sides of the support rail, by a tongue and groove joint. The metal support rail can be of steel, aluminium or aluminium alloy with a grooved cavity or opening on the vertical lengthwise sides, into which fits a moulded protruding strip.
