<p>The invention relates to a process for removing sulfur containing compounds such as H2S and COS from a gas stream, comprising contacting the gas stream with an absorbent in a fluidized bed, which absorbent is based on at least one oxide of a first metal selected from the group consisting of Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn, in combination with at least one oxide of a second metal selected from the group consisting of Cr, Mo and W on a carrier selected from the group consisting of Al2O3, TiO2, or ZrO2 or mixtures thereof, said absorbent being in the form of particles.</p> |
