Wide clean transducer for ultrasonic testing

The head uses a long piezoelectric crystal. An aperture is located in the area of both narrow sides. These are formed either as a hole (28) close to the narrow side, or as a cut, e.g. a slot, which extends from the side. The aperture has a surface, which is between 1 and 1,5 mm<2>. The apertures are closed and covered by a protective layer.
