The process produces a commutator motor with a stator side brush holder (1) in which the brushes (1.1, 1.2) are guided and are held in pressing contact with a commutator. First, the brushes (1.1, 1.2) are held by a retaining part (3) in a radially raised assembly position. The retainer (3) is held in the brush holder (1). The holder (1) is put onto the end (2.1) of an assembly mandrel (2), before being mounted on the stator side. Thus, when the retainer (3) is axially displaced, the brushes (1.1, 1.2) remain in an assembly position lying on the circumference of the mandrel (2). The other end (2.3) of the mandrel (2) corresponds at least to the outer diameter of the commutator (4). This end is positioned coaxially to the commutator (4). By further axial movement along the mandrel (2), the brush holder (1) and brushes (1.1, 1.2) are brought to an operative axial end position relative to the commutator (4). The mandrel (2) is then axially withdrawn and the brushes (1.1, 1.2) radially slide to the commutator (4).

|
