摘要 PURPOSE: To enhance paper feed properties and durable strength by setting the value calculated by dividing the L&W rigidity in the longitudinal direction of a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer is provided on a support by the basis wt. of said material to a specific value or more. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material, the value calculated by dividing the L&W rigidity (according to ISO 2493) in the longitudinal direction thereof by the basis wt. (according to JIS P8124) thereof is set to 2.5 or more. By this constitution, the printer feed properties and durable strength of the thermal recording material are made extremely excellent. When the value calculated by dividing the L&W rigidity in the longitudinal direction of the thermal recording material by the basis wt. thereof is less than 2.5, the stiffness of the thermal recording material becomes weak and it becomes necessary to vainly increase the basis wt. and thickness of the thermal recording material in order to enhance the rigidity thereof and a problem such that cost is increased and the outer diameter obtained when the thermal recording material is rolled becomes large is generated. Further, the thermal recording material is easily obtained in such a case that the support thereof is paper consisting of two layers and the content of N-material pulp of at least one layer of them occupies 60wt.% or more of the total pulp thereof.
