<p>PURPOSE: To obtain seamless printing of a high quality by letting a light emitting element selectively emit light by matrix drive and reducing the number of driver ICs so as to reduce the cost. CONSTITUTION: On an insulating substrate 100, a one-dimensional array light emitting element array using an organic EL material having rectifying property for a light emitting layer 160 and an m×n matrix electrode consisting of m block electrodes 171-173 and n individual signal electrodes 181-183 are formed, which are driven so as to form an organic EL light emitting element array head arranged one-dimensionally, and made to be a light source of an electrophotographic printer. For driving a matrix wiring of a light emitting element using an organic EL light emitting material having a low heat resistance, the matrix wiring is performed precedently and the light emitting element is manufactured thereafter. Accordingly, the organic EL light emitting element 160 is arranged one-dimensionally on the continuous insulating substrate 100, so that printing of high quality without cut lines among chips can be obtained.</p> |
