<p>PURPOSE: To operate an automatic brake surely at the time of operation of a normal brake as well as to enable it to operate this normal brake surely at the time of the operation of the automatic brake. CONSTITUTION: With the output of a vacuum servo unit, a second piston 9 moves to the left and a second valve 31 closes, and further a first piston 8 moves to the left and a first valve 22 closes as well. Master cylinder pressure in both first and second liquid chambers going up by additional movements of both these pistons 8 and 9 is fed to each wheel cylinder (W/C), whereby a normal brake operates. In addition, a thrust generator 3 is operated by an electronic control unit 47 and thereby a third piston 10 moves to the right and the first valve 22 closes, and also the first piston 8 moves to the right and the second valve 31 closes, whereby the generating pressure is fed to the wheel cylinder, so an automatic brake operates. If the thrust generator 3 operates at the time of the operation of the normal brake, the automatic brake operates, and if a brake pedal is operated at the time of the operation of the automatic brake, the normal brake operates.</p> |
