摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a speed change gear ratio automatically for giving a smooth vehicular operation and favorable vehicular performance by adding the selection function of an advance gear ratio, based on the driver's will estimated by a throttle pedal position. SOLUTION: CPU 38 decides a shift from a present continuous ratio to the gear ratio selected by assuming the gear ratio to the driver's selection for displacing the gear ratio further one step, when the displacement from the neutral position of a selection lever 1 is repeated continuously in a prescribed direction. Here, when a vehicular speed exceeds a standard value and an engine rotation speed is lower than the standard value, the displacement from the neutral position of the selection lever 1 is interpreted as a down shift. When the detection position of a throttle sensor 22 is smaller than the standard value, the engine, at the expected vehicular speed after shifting, selects the speed change ratio rotatable at the nearly intermediate speed between the maximum allowable speed and a peek torque speed as the optimum advance gear ratio. While, when the detection position of the throttle sensor 22 is bigger than the standard value, the one step lower gear ratio than the optimum advance gear ratio is selected.</p>
