PURPOSE: To display the semitop view of a game field with a simple arithmetic unit by recording the element identification codes of field components and semitop view images and supplying them to a VRAM corresponding to the command of a CPU. CONSTITUTION: Main game arithmetic is performed by a CPU 1 in response to an input from a console 7 according to a game program recorded in a ROM 2. Then, the reference plane of the game field is divided into plural mosaic unit areas, the element identification codes of the field components existent in the respective unit areas and the respective semitop view images are recorded together with indices decided for each unit area, and the recorded data are supplied to a VRAM 4 by a semitop control circuit 3 corresponding to the command of the CPU 1. In this case, the element identification codes are composed of a code showing the heights of ordinary field components (the number of building blocks), a code showing their form (the form of the piled up building block on the top stage) and code showing a character (shown by a solid body). |
