PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a display device with an electro-optic cell to be surely assembled at low cost without errors. SOLUTION: In this display device 11 with an electro-optic cell 14 in a housing 13, especially for an automotive dashboard, one of the edge zones 16 of the cell 14 is pressed by means of at least one leaf-like spring 19 against a stopper 18 secured to the housing. The spring 19 is thereby curved out of the principal plane of a film and supported on the housing 13 opposite the stopper 18.
