PURPOSE: To deal with multikind and small quantity production corresponding to a multi-shape, to improve the processing accuracy of a product by omitting a labor hour, and to perform an automatic operation by altering a positioning pin used to center the hole opening of a refractory brick. CONSTITUTION: A lower positioning pin 6 is advanced to a refractory brick 5 roughly positioned on a table 1 by an air cylinder 9, stopped by a stopper 8 matched to a hole opening core 3, and raised by an air cylinder 10. A tapered hole of the same shape as the pin 6 is molded at the lower surface of the brick 5, and the brick 5 is positioned within a range of±1.0mm of processing accuracy by raising of the pin 6 and lowering by its own weight. Then, when a centering complete sensor mounted at the cylinder 10 is turned ON, the brick 5 is clamped fixedly by a clamp cylinder 7. Thereafter, the pin 6 is moved down, retracted, and when a retract sensor is turned ON, the core 3 is simultaneously moved down to start cutting.
