摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a lactone-modified polystyrene resin improved in the ability of modify a resin, flexibility and toughness by composing it of a random copolymer comprising an aromatic vinyl monomer, a hydroxy vinyl monomer and other vinyl monomers and a random copolymer comprising anε-caprolactone monomer and other cyclic monomer. CONSTITUTION: A resin having a number-average molecular weight (in terms of the molecular weight of the polystyrne) of 10000-1000000 as measured by GPC is composed of 10-70wt.% random copolymer (A), as the trunk polymer, comprising 50-99.5wt.% structural units (a1 ) derived from an aromatic vinyl monomer, 0.5-20wt.% structural units (a2 ) derived from a hydroxy vinyl monomer, and 0-49.5wt.% (a1 +a2 +a3 =100wt.%) structural units (a3 ) derived from other vinyl monomers and a random copolymer (B), as the branch polymer, comprising 60-85wt.% structural units (b1 ) derived fromε-caprolactone entering a ring-opening addition reaction with the hydroxyl groups of component (a2 ), and 15-40wt.% (b1 +b2 =100wt.%) structural units (b2 ) derived from other cyclic monomers and is prepared by adding b1 and b2 components and a polymerization catalyst to component A, melt-kneading and polymerizing the resultant mixture.
